Tax & SI Changes For 2009 Now Available!

The Chief Minister announced a number of new tax and social insurance
changes in his annual budget speech in the Gibraltar Parliament on
Thursday 25th June 2009. A full transcript of the speech is available

Social Insurance rates have increased 4%. There have been a number of
minor reductions in Tax, in particular new rates for people earning
under £25k to offer them the incentive to switch to the Gross Income
Based (GIB) tax system.
The Government will be issuing a new tax book containing the latest
changes via mail to employers. Employers have been advised that until
this book has been received they can deduct tax at the previous rate.
We are pleased to announce that these new tax and social insurance
changes have now been incorporated into EasyPay 9.03.
We recommend that all employers upgrade ASAP to allow their employees to
take advantage of the new tax / SI changes. After upgrading,
EasyPay will apply these new rates to all payslips dated after 1 July
2009.

Payroll & HR Seminar

In conjunction with Training Tailor Made and Mediterranean Computer
Services, we held two seminars at the O'Callaghan Eliott's Hotel on
Wednesday 17th June 2009.
These seminars were designed to get feedback from businesses in
Gibraltar about the features that they need in their HR & Payroll
systems.
The seminars were very successful and have provided us with a lot of
feedback to use to enhance our future products. In addition some of the
feedback will be useful when discussing requirements with Government
departments.

New Features:
1. A number of new forms for the employment service such as the Contract
form, Termination form, P7A, Variation form and the Work Permit
Application.
2. Many refinements designed to simplify typical issues users encounter.
3. The ability to undo any month / week easily. Previously it was quite
long winded to amend Week 3 if you were at Week 50.
4. Support for SQL Server 2008 & SQL Server 2008. This provides
performance improvements. Existing customers can upgrade their existing
SQL 2005 installations and we will send details on how to do this on
request.
5. Installation mechanism is now improved and simplified.
6. EasyPay has been tested and improved for the upcoming release of
Windows 7.
7. This version contains all 90+ updates shipped to customers throughout
2008 and 2009.
