EasyPay & Tax Changes

We are pleased to announce that we have just released EasyPay version 9.27, which contains the latest tax changes. These tax changes have been verified against the Gibraltar Government tax departments book which was released online earlier this afternoon. We recommend that all customers update immediately to ensure they are using the correct social insurance and tax rates.

Over the next month, businesses throughout Gibraltar will be working to prepare their end of tax year documents for submission to the Income Tax department. It is a very busy period for payroll officers, filling out complex time demanding forms such as the P8 and P7.

During this busy time, it is customary for the Gibraltar Government to announce their budget for the next year in the annual speech by the Chief Minister to Gibraltar Parliament. The announcement usually occurs in the last week of June and it is particularly important date for most of us because we learn how much our tax or social insurance will change in the new tax year. For payroll officers, this announcement is particularly important as they will need to ensure that their employees’ salaries from July are calculated to take these changes into account.

At present the EasyPay team are busy gearing up for the new tax year, and preparing to introduce tax and social insurance changes into the software as soon as the details are announced.

In the next few weeks the latest version, version 10, will also be released. Version 10 has been designed to take advantage of two new Microsoft technologies gaining a strong following - Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008. In fact considerable development and testing has gone into the next version, which takes advantage of new range of AMD and Intel processors to offer a faster, slicker, smoother user experience.
 
EasyPay Version 10 builds on the existing product and is a further step in the road to offer more Human Resources features from the software at no extra cost. The system expands on the already comprehensive employee records database to meet the growing needs of a wide range of clients in different industries. Its personnel database system stores a wide range of information about each employee such as their personal details, career records, training records, leave records and document checklists. With Version 10, many of the high end features, have now been extended to small businesses.
